  1. Can you explain why the latest books in this series have been so short. Just getting interesting to read and they are over. They don’t seem to get any cheaper from the beginning of the series.

    1. Hi Walter

      Glad you enjoy the books.

Thanks for the question. I went back to the files I published and made a note of the word count per book (rounded to nearest thousand) and the e-book price in USD.

      Scythian – 56 000 – 2.99USD
      Legionary – 62 000 – 2.99USD
      Sasanian – 80 000 – 2.99USD
      Transsilvanian – 60 000 – 2.99USD
      Goth – 61 000 – 2.99USD
      Roman – 60 000 – 2.99USD
      Illyrian – 59 000 – 2.99USD
      Roxolani – 66 000 – 2.99USD
      Issedonian – 68 000 – 2.99USD
      Herulian – 65 000 – 2.99USD
      Barbarian – 67 000 – 3.25USD
      Athenian – 63 000 – 3.25USD
      Destroyer – 64 000 – 3.25USD

Apart from Sasanian, they have remained pretty much at the same level. I hope that the reason why they feel shorter is because nowadays I put a lot more effort into refining and editing the books. I also spend much more time during research. This does not always show in the word count, but I feel it does make a difference to the quality of the product.

I like to believe that I cram the same amount of action and excitement of longer books into more compact books with fewer words. 🙂

I am not sure in which currency you purchase because that could have a major effect as most currencies have weakened against the USD over the last few years. I price all the items in USD.

I escalate the price of my new paperbacks with the increase in printing and related costs.

      Kind regards

      Hector
